About us

The My Personal Finance Skills programme delivers free financial education & career insight workshops to schools across the country to help students understand more about money and leave school ‘life-ready’. 


These workshops are targeted at students across KS3-5 (11-18 years old) and are ideal for enrichment days, PSHE/Citizenship lessons or career insight days.

Themes cover areas such as: staying safe from scams, the first payslip, making decisions and risk, future finances and much more.

Financial education material you can trust

The financial education material has undergone a process of piloting in schools and has also been awarded the financial education Quality Mark by Young Money after fulfilling the following criteria:

  1. Developed in consultation with teachers and educationalists and tested with young people in the target group.
  2. Having a dedicated Theory of Change and evaluation plan.
  3. Having a principle focus on financial education.
  4. Including opportunities for structured learning.
  5. Engaging and relevant for young people.
  6. Clearly written and easy to use.
  7. Containing accurate, up-to-date information and free from branding.

Free financial education delivered by professionals

Workshops are delivered by a network of volunteers (Education Champions) who are personal finance professionals, members of the Personal Finance Society and who have passed our internal financial education sign-off process to deliver workshops in schools.

The Personal Finance Society (part of the Chartered Insurance Institute Group) is the leading UK professional body for financial planners and those in related roles.  Both the Personal Finance Society and Chartered Insurance Institute are focused on engendering public confidence and trust in the personal finance profession by setting standards and increasing professionalism.
